Now is the time to create a safety net for that just in case moment.
It is a very rare computer that never crashes or encounters a freeze or just plain won't start up. They exist, but they are EXTREMELY RARE! Prepare for that inevitable day by doing four things:
  • 1. Create a Restore Point.
  • 2. Backup the Windows Registry.
  • 3. Backup your computer hard disk.
  • 4. Create a Rescue Disk.

1. To create a Restore Point follow the instructions outlined in this link:
2. To Backup the Windows Registry and get an idea what it is go here:
3. Backup the Hard Disk using Macrium Reflect. Macrium Reflect Free Website Download Macrium Reflect Free from CNET Ask Leo How to Use Macrium Reflect Keep in mind the backup process can take some time so plan at least 45 minutes to several hours depending on the quantity of files and folders you have on your Hard Drive(s). As well, verify your backup is alright by testing it. Other good backup programs include: Todo Backup (Free) Acronis True Image (For Purchase Software) Computer Knowledge Tip Number Four: I highly suggest you consider purchasing an external USB drive in the 1-2 TB (Terabyte or 1000 GB) or more range to store backups on as well as personal files and all else so in the event of a complete system failure you have a brilliant safety net. Also the more room you have on your main hard disk (C:\) the faster it will run. (Exception: SSD Drives).

4.Create a Rescue Media Option in the form of a CD/DVD. The Backup software you just installed will give you the option to do so. Take the time to do this be it a Linux Rescue Disc or a Windows PE Disk. You will be glad you did when it all goes wonky and it will so PREPARE YOURSELF NOW. Take it from one who has been there and done that, what you prepare for now will save you so much grief later.
